James is the Founder and Managing Director at Saikel. In this capacity, he is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and growth of the company while still taking an active role in all stages of our client’s projects.

James thrives in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, and is always seeking new challenges and relationships that allow him to push the boundaries and deliver exceptional results for his clients and their delivery teams.

With 20 years of experience, focused solely in the commercial and industrial fitout and sectors, James has an acquired ability to understand the clients project requirements outside of the expected time, cost, quality and safety requirements. He recognizes that owners and occupiers have unique and distinctive needs, and it is James’ duty to identify those needs and ensure the client can assemble and align their project team effectively, to ensure their expectations are exceeded.

Throughout James’s career, he has established and lead teams that have been responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of end user fitouts for some of Australia’s leading businesses and commercial and industrial occupiers. He has also established teams for some of Australia’s leading institutional property investors and their asset management teams to ensure their facilities remain relevant, viable and attractive in the ever competitive commercial and industrial leasing markets. These opportunities have allowed James to gain an acute understanding of the levers that drive this corner of the construction industry, but also to establish, build and maintain a network of delivery partners who are equally as passionate in supporting our clients in achieving their project goals.

Outside of his professional pursuits, James treasures quality time spent with his family and finds solace in his passion for cycling. His belief in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and finding joy in every aspect of life is truly inspiring.
